I'm raising money for charity, and the aim of this post is to get you to sponsor me. I suggest you either:

The charity bit
We're all so busy doing our bit to find cures for horrible illnesses that I sometimes wonder how prepared we are when one or other of those diseases appears in our own lives. I guess it's not really something we want to think about, the experience of friends and family tells me it's certainly not something I'd wish on anyone. But those diseases do turn up (more frequently than many of us would like to admit), and people live with them every day.
Which is why I'm raising money for Macmillan, the people who help to support the many people living with cancer. Will show your support for their work by sponsoring me?
The running bit
Just over a year ago I took up running, dragging myself around the local 5km ParkRun. I'm a bit slow and continue to be amazed when I actually complete the run (a little faster very time), but now I've decided to put that effort to good use by attempting a 10km run.On Sunday, 11th June 2017, I'll be running the Staplehurst 10k and I'd really appreciate it if you could sponsor me. Not only will this be raising money for a good cause (see above) it'll also give me a good reason to stick to it and run the whole thing – and I need all the encouragement I can get.
Here's my Just Giving page, please add some money and share the link: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/BookshopBlogger
Thank you,
Erica
PS. I'll be honest with you, this isn't my first 10k. When I was 18 I took part in a 10k run for charity, organised by my school. I ran every step. It was two hours of hell and more than one walker overtook me. I'm hoping to be a little faster this time.
